The Commercial Inventory is compiled usually for legal and / or insurance purposes. Copies will be bound for the Commissioning Agent and the legal and / or Insurance Company. A copy for file purposes is stored on Lets Inventory computer database for future reference.

The legal and / or insurance company's copy is signed and is considered the original on which future claims/insurance premiums will be based. It is usually the responsibility of the commissioning agent to append valuations/receipts of items to the document.

Photographic records can also be compiled for this purpose.
